strawberry creamsicle smoothie
One of my favorite pops of summer is an orange creamsicle. I have loved them since I was a child, and at only 70 calories a pop, I never feel too guilty indulging. On a piping hot Georgia summer day, there are few things that can actually cool you off, this is one of them. Today, as I am typing this I am enjoying the unusually cool summer day here. I am talking low 70's. It's absolutely gorgeous, unbelievable really, but I am certain all of us Southerners will be slapped in the face with reality come tomorrow morning and by reality, I mean 90 degrees by 9am. As hot as Southern summers go, I seriously wouldn't trade them for the world. Smoothies are one of the world's easiest things to make, granted you have a blender. When I say blender, I just mean the run-of-the-mill, normal one. I am not fortunate enough yet to have one of those fancy ones. The thing I love the most about smoothies is that you can toss nearly anything in them and they will turn out tasty. I love to use them as meal replacements too, by throwing in a scoop of protein powder.
